NNMECU will again award three scholarships to deserving students this year to help with their education. The Charles L. Jones Scholarship, in the amount of $750, is awarded in honor of our good friend who was a faithful volunteer for many years. Each of the remaining scholarships, named for J. Emmett Gwaltney and William “Bill” Cutts, will be for $500.
If you are a member - or have a child or legal guardian who is - and would like to apply for one of these scholarships, just submit a completed application and essay(s). Applications are available at both offices (or click here to download) and must be returned by February 28, 2014 to be considered by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college of the winner's choice when he or she is ready to register. For more information, contact Randi Green at (757)249-1003, ext. 308.
Also available to graduating high school seniors is the Hampton Roads Chapter of Credit Unions Garland Keeling Memorial Scholarship. Interested seniors should check with their high school counselors, as one application is solicited from each area high school.
